After a difficult week I felt the need to bury myself in Art in the evenings, so I finished up this dusty retro Nixie clock as a 3D modelling exercise. The dust is geometry based, scattered using TyFlow. Rendered in Toolbag 4 using raytracing to ensure emissive materials cast light into the scene, only Toolbag library textures were used. Although I did model the wire mesh anode and numerical cathodes, I didn't connect everything up, but I thought it was worth breaking one bulb to show the metallic internals.
In this animation, the dust layer can be clearly seen
